Social Services Lawyer needed in Bury Paying £30 per hr Ref 0009 8DDB /1

Full time hrs on a temporary basis

• Role Purpose: Provide expert legal advice and support to the children’s services department, focusing on child protection, safeguarding, and welfare responsibilities.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on legal matters related to children’s services, including child protection, safeguarding, and welfare cases.

  • Conduct legal proceedings in relation to care proceedings, adoption, and other child protection matters.

  • Draft and manage court applications, orders, and legal documents.

  • Provide legal advice to social workers, managers, and other stakeholders on statutory duties and responsibilities.

  • Represent in court hearings and negotiations with external parties.

  • Attend and conduct professional meetings, case conferences, and advocate meetings.

  • Supervise and mentor junior legal staff, providing training and support.

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for children’s services staff on legal issues.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and case law.

  • Support the strategic objectives through effective legal advice and representation.
