Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Job Description
  • Lead a team of leaders, social workers, and staff.
  • Ensure efficient service operation within agency deadlines.
  • Provide analytical reports as needed.
  • Meet and maintain high standards for statutory requirements.
  • Adhere to confidentiality policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities, including audits and inspections.
  • Manage workforce development, performance, supervision, compliance, quality improvements, and budget.
  • Supervise team leaders and assist with complex social work decisions.
  • Collaborate with other managers and partner agencies.
  • Work creatively within available resources, ensuring best practices.
  • Operate autonomously, resolving conflicts and addressing complaints restoratively.
  • Promote a restorative, strengths-based approach.

  Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised professional qualification in social work and registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in social work with children and families, including management experience.
  • Inspirational leader with a drive to develop practice in Portsmouth.
  • Knowledge of statutory procedures and local standards.
  • Commitment to personal learning and professional development.
  • Curious, creative, and a ‘can do’ attitude
• Ideally, have experience in kinship care, fostering, and adoption
