Senior Developing Highways Manager needed in Shrewsbury Paying £25.24 per hr Ref 1423250

Full time hrs on a temporary basis

Role Purpose: Lead and manage the Developing Highways team, facilitating economic growth on the highway network, ensuring best value, and maximizing opportunities to enhance highway infrastructure while supporting community needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the senior officer within the Developing Highways team, managing development sites through S38, S278, and S106 agreements.

• Lead large-scale projects and developments from a highway perspective to support the council’s economic growth strategy.

• Manage commissioning contracts for a range of services within the Developing Highways team.

• Generate and manage your own workload, leading on various proposals and projects, and providing strategic advice to senior management.

• Support the Planning and Development Services Manager in delivering a development management service that aligns with the council’s objectives.

• Be responsible for health and safety, training, and development in coordination with the Planning and Development Services Manager.

• Lead and contribute to projects, building relationships with internal and external partners to achieve specified outcomes.

• Account for the performance and resource utilization within a defined part of the service area, ensuring delivery of key outcomes for local people by building and maintaining an effective team.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in highway development control and management.

• Sound understanding of S38, S278, and S106 agreements and their implications on highway development.

• Strong project leadership skills with the ability to manage large-scale highway projects.
