Democratic Services Officer

Democratic Services Officer needed in Burton on Trent Paying  £13.04per hr ref 5261352

Full time hours on a temporary basis 

 Responsibilities include:

• Committee Support: Attend meetings, manage audio recording/streaming, and produce agendas/minutes.

• Administrative Support: Provide support and advice to Members.

• Decision Records: Process all decision-making records.

• FOI Requests: Handle FOI requests and manage the FOI database.

• Corporate Complaints: Coordinate responses to corporate complaints.

• Registers Maintenance: Maintain registers of Members’ Interests and Parish Councils’ Interests.

• County Council Liaison: Support temporary road/footpath orders.

• Emergency Telephone Operation: Coordinate out-of-hours emergency operations.

• Assist Principal Officer: Support the Principal Democratic Services Officer and deputize in their absence.

• Data Protection Compliance: Ensure compliance with Data Protection and FOI legislation.

• Independent Remuneration Panel: Support the panel and arrange meetings.

• Member Induction: Assist with Member induction post-elections.

• Resilience Planning: Support Resilience Planning under the Civil Contingencies Act.

• Professional Development: Pursue continuing professional development.
