  • About the Role:

    We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Equalities Project Manager to support the implementation, delivery, and coordination of the Challenging Inequality Programme. This role involves working closely with staff, internal and external stakeholders to drive forward our commitment to fairness, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Programme Coordination: Support the implementation and delivery of the Challenging Inequality Programme, ensuring effective coordination across the organization.
    2. Governance Arrangements: Coordinate governance arrangements for programme board meetings, including the Challenging Inequality Programme Board, Coalition, Partnership Working Group, and Race Equality Working Group. Ensure high-quality papers are produced and circulated ahead of meetings.
    3. Strategic Leadership: Help develop the strategic leadership workstream by informing leaders of key priorities, developing strategic action plans, and monitoring performance against actions.
    4. Collaboration: Collaborate with the employer workstream to stay updated on developments and coordinate the role and expectations of equalities champions.
    5. Reporting: Coordinate and facilitate reporting arrangements for the service provider and commissioner workstream, ensuring service leaders are supported and empowered to lead and report with confidence.
    6. Relationship Building: Build relationships with staff forums and co-chairs, keeping them informed and involved in the wider corporate programme and commitments to challenge inequality.
    7. Opportunity Spotting: Proactively identify opportunities to connect workstreams and activate new projects, programmes, and ideas generated in meetings. Ensure engagement and collaboration with relevant teams, partners, and community organisations.
    8. Research and Best Practices: Research ideas, connect with organisations and individuals, and identify resources of best practice to inform programme priorities and support the development of clear actions.
    9. Communication: Produce well-presented, clear, and concise reports, plans, slides, schedules, and communications tailored to different audiences.
    10. Analysis and Improvement: Collate and analyse highlight and progress reports, capturing significant information to communicate impact and make recommendations for improvements.
    11. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the equalities team to support the achievement of team objectives and the wider Fairer Together team, role modelling the ethos and culture of fairness, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
