Planning Enforcement Officer needed in Stoke on Trent Paying £40per hr Ref 5260073

Full time hrs on a temporary basis

Role Purpose: Provide professional planning guidance and recommend decisions on planning applications and enforcement matters, focusing on delivering the objectives of the Enforcement Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice on enforcement and planning law, policy, and guidance.

• Appraise and recommend decisions on formal applications and enforcement complaints.

• Undertake necessary enforcement actions, such as serving Notices and Injunctions.

• Contribute to the design and delivery of sustainable site and area-based regeneration priorities.

• Deliver programmes of monitoring, research, or investigation to support planning and enforcement decisions.

• Act as a professional witness in planning and enforcement matters, including preparing and giving evidence at inquiries, hearings, examinations, or courts.

• Validate planning applications and present reports to committees and other meetings.

• Support the duty system and write published planning advice and information.

• Monitor planning conditions, planning obligations, and development progress.

• Provide practical advice to businesses on planning and related services.

• Identify opportunities for investment in regeneration projects.

• Maintain a proactive and collaborative approach to work quality.

• Undertake any other duties as required by the senior management team.
